~ Birthday Party ~ Julia's Princess Rocker Girl Birthday Party {stars, guitars and peace signs}

I am so excited to show you all the pictures of Julia's 7th 'Rocker Girl' Birthday Party.
I had so much fun planning all the details for this party and I love how everything turned out!

The party was held at Poprocks. This is a local party place where kids get to sing Karaoke style and record their own CD to take home. What a great new concept! From there we went all out with the 'Rock Star' theme  {I'm trying to think who is in the video on the background...one of the Jonas brothers maybe? }

I made the cake and cupcakes to match the 'Rocker Princess' theme and I love how they turned out. I used my Towering Tiers Cake Stand from Wilton to display. I love this look!

I also designed matching cupcake toppers and water bottle labels.

These metal lunch boxes were the perfect party favors.  So cute!

The 'Rocker Girl' printable collection is now available at my Etsy shop.

~ Birthday Party ~ Pirates!! 1st birthday party and Pirate pops Tutorial

 I've been meaning to post these pictures for a while. Ivano turned one in October and his mom and I thought a Pirate Party was the perfect theme to celebrate his birthday.

I had so much fun planning all the details of this party and I love how everything turned out!

 Ivano loves balloons and we had tons of them!

 We wanted to have a "cute" rather than "scary" pirate theme,
that's why we chose the color palette to be sky blue, white and red.

I made the cupcakes and designed the cupcake toppers to match the decor.

I made the most adorable rice krispie pops in the shape of little pirate faces
{Tutorial here}

The tables were decorated with tons of chocolate gold coins, pirate eyepatches,
 gold necklaces and gold wrapped Hershey kisses {pretend gems}.

 I also made the water bottle labels to match the pirate party theme.

We wrapped the party favors in white and red stripes paper and decorated with a raffia bow and made to match Thank you tags.

 All of the pirate party supplies were purchased at the party packagers here in Canada.
 Pirate party supplies can be also purchased online at Birthday express.

  All of the pirate printable collection now available at my Etsy store.

These boy party ideas were also featured on Spaceships and Laser Beams.

~ Cake Craze ~ Anthony's Thomas The Train 4th Birthday Cake

My friend Laura asked me to make a cake for her son Anthony's 4th Birthday Party.  Anthony is a big fan of Thomas the Train. I used the towering tiers cake stand from Wilton.  I really like this stand because you can either use it for both cakes or cupcakes or a combination of both.

I made orange cupcakes with Dulce de Leche filling {or Arequipe how is called in my country, which is a Caramel-like milk spread that is so yummy!} and buttercream icing. I made the cupcake toppers with Thomas the Train confetti cut-outs.

As for the cake it was the same recipe but I added a touch of Whisky and covered in fondant, it was served to adults only - because of the whisky of course:)

I will be posting the orange-caramel cake recipe soon! Thanks Laura for trusting me to make the cake for cutie Anthony.

~ Birthday Party ~ 70's Disco Fun! The grooviest event of the Year.

It was my daughter's birthday a couple of weeks ago, and we celebrated with a disco themed party.  She had been planning her party since we finished celebrating her birthday last year.  She loves disco balls and dancing, this theme was perfect for her, but intead of celebrating the 70's, we were celebrating her 7's.

Planning all the details for this party was so much fun, I love this theme.
She wanted this party to be a girls only event, Julianna's Sunday Night Disco Fever!

 We designed the Invitation to appear like a ticket to enter a night club. It had a detachable VIP pass to be given at the door to the security guy {daddy dressed up all in black with a funny wig} I will show you the pictures but I don't think "mi amor" will approve :) He actually had double duty that day, he also had a special presentation as DJ daddy.

{Not exactly from the 70's but she insisted on wearing this rock star outfit}

  Balloon column { My mom's latest design}

 My mom travelled to Canada to surprise my daughter on her birthday and to help with all the decor. The party craze runs in my family.  My mom did the most amazing parties for me and I just want to do the same for my daughters.

Lots of balloons, disco balls, Records, Musical notes and dangling stars were decorating the room.

THE CAKE

 My daughter kept telling me for her cake she wanted 7 tiers, her reasoning is that since she was going to be 7 she had to have 7 cakes... I think she is watching too much of the Cake Boss. I got her 5 tiers between cupcakes and cake, I was kind of close.

This was my second cake and I LOVE how it turned out. I got inspired by a design I saw on the Carlo's bakery website { didn't see my first cake...you can see it here}  I worked so hard on it, making all the little fondant decorations. I stayed up until 5 am the day before the party as the first time the fondant on the cake kept cracking but I kept trying until it finally worked.  It was a lot of work but it was all worth it, as my daughter loved it!
I am actually thinking of taking some serious cake decorating classes at the Bonnie Gordon School here in Toronto.. In fact I already made my 3rd cake for my friend's son birthday last week {pics coming soon}

My daughter loved her rainbow cake and my friends were asking me how I did it. Well It was very easy, just time consuming. I separated the batter in different containers and added food colorant to each, but as I only have one pan of this size, I had to bake and wait 6 times to get all the layers, and wash and grease and flour the same pan 6 times... My husband kept telling me I was crazy ..but I didn't care :)  so my recommendation is if you attempt to do all these layers at least have two of the same size pan.

To coordinate with the party theme, the favors were tie-dye sun visors, peace sign hair ties and "Love" sparkling girls make up.

I made coordinated water bottle labels.  All the disco party printable collection {Invitations, water bottle labels, cupcake toppers and tags} will be available soon at my Etsy shop.

All the girls got their make-up and hair done!

We all had so much fun!

~ Birthday Party ~ Sarina's SWEET Second Birthday Party

I am so excited to share with you the pictures of my daughter's second birthday party!
I am currently in recovery mode from all the planning; I worked non-stop for the past month doing all the little projects, but it was all worth it because I just love how everything turned out.

THE DECOR...

While browsing Birthday Express for party supplies, I found the most adorable paper plates and cups from Yummi-land.  My daughter loves candies, so I thought the candy theme was perfect for her party.

It was so much fun to plan all the decor:  Lollipops, cupcakes, candies and gumballs.  I made columns of balloons in pink, red, blue and red.  The scenary for the Sweet Table consisted of two giant lollipops and a big cupcake.

THE DESSERT TABLE...
It looked so sweet!  I picked all the candies to coordinate with the party colors. There were swirl lollipops, jelly beans, Smarties, gummies, marshmallows, gumdrops, pink wafer cookies, cupcakes decorated with pink and blue frosting, coordinated the party circles I designed, Dubble Bubble pops wrapped in pink, raspberry and aqua blue tissue and cello paper, chocolate cups with strawberries and whipped cream...

The Cake {I am so proud of my cake; I took a Michaels fondant and gum paste decorating class a couple of weeks ago and this was my first cake and I loved it!} I did all the fondant bows, lollipops and candy decorations for thecake and cupcakes.

And I can't forget about the little waffle-ice cream house with my baby's name and the number 2 on top, inspired by the Sweetopia logo. Adorable, isn't it?

THE PARTY FAVORS...

They were the most adorable mini-gumball machines. I purchased them at Beau-coup  and decorated them with an organza bow and a guest name tag.

THE FOOD TABLE...

At the Food table  there was veal sandwiches, chicken and beef lasagna, caesar salad, mini hot dogs, chicken nuggets, cheese and fruit trays.  I made Jello cups in 3 layers of strawberry, blueberry and raspberry  flavours to match the party colors.

The clear plastic cutlery was wrapped in aqua blue paper napkins and decorated with napkin rings made with ribbons and the same party circles as the cupcakes. The spoons were also decorated with party circles.{I got a lot of compliments on my lasagna, several friends asked me for the recipe -  I will be posting it soon}

Have you tried this new brand of Water bottles?

 ENTERTAINMENT...

I always have to have a PiƱata included in all my kids' parties. The kids love them! This time I made a lollipop one and it turned out really cute!  Again I asked Steve to entertain the kids. They love him and always have a lot of fun! I also got a CD especially for the occasion to play the Lollipop Song - It's my party! by the Supertarz Kids.

THE DRESS...

My daughter looked adorable in her pink hand-smocked dress. I had picked this dress last year thinking of her second birthday and everything just came together perfectly because without planning it the dress had the same party colors: pink with aqua blue and raspberry accents.  Most importantly she enjoyed her party, especially when we sang happy birthday to her! She blew the candles and she had lots of fun serving the cake! :)

I hope you enjoyed the pictures. Thanks for reading!
