The ICE CREAM PARLOR!

I finally get to post these pictures! They were actually taken last year but then the winter came and it just didn't feel right to post these pictures of this gorgeous sunny day!

Since Spring is almost here and a lot of us can't wait, I just thought it would be a good idea to share these with you!

My daughters have always asked me if they could have a lemonade stand in our front yard... they kept asking and asking, and finally one day I said OK! We started looking in the garage for a box or something we could use to make a stand... and that's when my husband got involved.. he said we couldn't use a box to make a stand and that he would make one for us using old scraps of wood he had laying around... and that's how we got a Fabulous Stand.. My daughters and I painted it pink and white with also left over paint.. After it was done.. we decided to make an Ice Cream Stand instead..

I just couldn't help it and started designing the labels for all the ice cream toppings.

My husband says I'm getting carried away as I also started to make water bottle labels, decorations for the spoons, cupcake toppers, signs, banner... Next thing I know, our pretend-play lemonade stand became a full Ice cream Stand production!

The stand looked so dreamy full of tasty colourful treats...We had brownie and ice cream, waffle cones, sugar cones, cupcakes, cookies, chocolates and lots of ice cream toppings: cherries, marshmallows, Oreo chocolate cookies, rainbow cookies, chocolate covered raisins, sugar sprinkles, whipped cream, hazelnut rolled wafers, caramel and chocolate sauce..

 I got inspired by the top from the Gymboree Ice Cream Sweetie collection, that my little one is wearing in the pictures. Her skirt was from the Children's Place. I believe it was supposed to be a Halloween tutu. I got it on clearance one day and it was just sitting there in the closet, she had never used it and now look how cute they looked together.. they were perfect for the occasion.

{If you want a shirt with the ice cream cones like the one my daughter was wearing you can always check on Ebay as this is now from past collection they don't carry these anymore at the store. I did the search for you, so just click on the ebay link}

Somewhere in my kitchen I found a cone shaped cookie cutter {I like buying cookie cutters when I think they're cute, hoping one day I'll use them.}  Although I'm not really much of a baker, I made the effort this time, and the cookies turned out pretty good for a first timer!

To keep the ice cream cold, I just got a Metal bucket and filled it up with Ice. I got it at Michaels. I've seen these metal buckets everywhere, they are great for keeping drinks cold for outdoor parties.

 I had everything else I used to display the treats, I just purchased the green plastic cones that I filled with chocolate.. Those will be great as favors for an Ice Cream themed birthday party...

 We went and gave little notes to the neighbours letting them know, we were setting up the parlor. It was a hit with the customers! Kids and Adults! Before it was even ready we had a huge line waiting.

It was a fun day for all.  We enjoyed ice cream with friends on a beautiful day, and the money we collected was donated to the Hospital for Sick Kids. My daughters got a thank you diploma from the hospital and even appeared in the local newspaper.. We'll do it again this year for sure!

~ Free Printables ~ Reindeer Magic Food Labels

Last year one of my daughters' teacher sent home a small bag with Reindeer Magic Food and instructions to be sprinkled on our lawn on Christmas Eve and I thought it was such a sweet and fun idea.

My daughter reminded me this year that we needed to have food for the Reindeers to eat while Santa comes inside. We made them together last night, they helped mixing the food and filling the bags. Such an easy little project to do together! She also told me to make sure we leave lots of cookies for Santa so he takes longer eating and maybe she can catch him this time!
I just thought it would be nice to send some for her school friends too so I designed these labels to attach to the food.

To make these you need:

{Reindeer food } Oats and sugar sprinkles
Clear treat bags or Ziploc bags
Small hole punch or double sided tape to attach labels
Printable Labels {Free Download here}
Ribbon

Now off to bake cookies for Santa!

~ DIY Tutorial ~ How to use party printables to make cupcake toppers, tags and water bottle labels

How to do cupcake toppers, treats and favors tags using the party circles:

  I had already posted some of this info in different posts but since I am getting a lot of questions on how to use the party printables, I decided to do a separate post about this.

Favors and treat tags:  Download and print file on white card stock paper, my designs are done to fit on a letter size 8.5 x 11 paper, cut into squares or use a paper punch of your choice.  After you have punched out your party circles, make a small hole punch to insert your ribbon.

For cupcake toppers, download and print file in white card stock paper, cut into squares or use an scalloped or circle punch and attach to 4" lollipop sticks {available at Michaels, Waltmart or Bulk Candy store} using tape or a small white circle labels.

You can make napkin rings too. Take a look at how I made these using party circles, ribbon and double sided tape.

Ever wonder how to affix water bottle labels?

Print your digital file in regular letter size 8.5"x11" paper, cut labels and attach using double sided tape {This is the easiest way but only works if water bottles will be served at room temperature, otherwise ink will leak from the labels}. You can also print them in full size sticker sheet {available at Business depot, office depot...}

Now if you want to make them waterproof and place them in buckets with ice, an easy and economical way, rather than buying waterproof labels, is to use clear packing tape, the width of the tape is exactly the same size as the labels. Laminate both sides of the label with the clear packing tape and then use the double sided tape to affix to the bottle. This way the ink won't leak.

You can also just attach the label to the bottle with double sided tape and then go over with the clear tape, you will be saving one step but only the top will be waterproof, I've done it before and my bottles were fine when placed in ice, but I recommend to make a trial run and place your bottle in a bucket with ice to check if water goes through. But just to make sure the ink won't leak with the last method, and you still want them in ice, just insert the bottles half way where the ice cubes don't touch the labels and the water will still be kept cold.

~ Party Printable ~ Cupcake toppers and Invitations {Free download}

I designed these cupcake toppers for a sweet girl who turned 11 a few weeks ago.  She had a few friends over her house to bake and decorate cupcakes.  These mini party circles can be used for favors tags as well.  Just print on cardboard paper, use a 1 1/2" scalloped or circle punch and attach to lollipops sticks.

Click here for ideas on how to use these party circles

I also made matching invitations, and you can use them too. I edited the file and left some blank space just so you can add your party details.

~Party Printable~ Easter Collection {Water bottle labels, Invitations, cupcake toppers and Banner} & Tutorial

My daughters and I are hosting an Easter bake Sale for charity this week.
I just finished designing the party printable collection I will use for the treats and table decor.  You can use them too if you are planning an Easter or egg hunting party this weekend..  I will post pictures of our decorated table after the event next week.

This collection includes Water bottle labels, Invitations, Banner and circle tags that can be used for cupcake toppers and treat bags.  Click on the links to download and see tutorial below. I hope you can use them, and if you do; please share your party pictures with us!

Ever wonder how to affix water bottle labels?

Remove original labels from water bottles and attach new ones using double sided tape {This is the easiest way but only works if water bottles will be served at room temperature, otherwise ink will leak from the labels}

How to do cupcake toppers, treats and favors tags:

Favors tags

 {Take a look at this post to see how to make favors and treat tags using party circles}

For cupcake toppers, download and print file, cut into squares or use an scalloped or circle 1 1/2" punch and attach to 4" lollipop sticks {available at Michaels, Waltmart or Bulk Candy store} using tape or a small white circle label.  Place in the middle of cupcakes as you can see in the picture above.

You can make napkin rings too.  Take a look at how I made these using party circles, ribbon and double sided tape.

How to make a banner using the printable file:

Download the file and print. Cut circles using a circle cutter or scissors and a steady hand :) Make two small punches at the top of each circle and thread the banner together using your favorite ribbon.
